I am Madhuri Kherde, the former principal of a secondary school in Mumbai and the founder and educator behind Englishlamp.in.

I have been teaching English and mathematics to intermediate students and those preparing for competitive exams such as the Management Entrance Exam, the Public Service Commission Exam, and the Administrative Service Exam for the past 37 years.

My Qualifications and Expertise

I have earned the degrees of Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Education, and Master of Arts in English. I have also earned an IRDA certificate. Because I have earned a B.Ed. degree, teaching is my expertise.

My journey with the Englishlamp

As I am a teacher, I understand the challenges that English language learners face. I used to note down the students’ challenges and teach in a simple way, providing a supportive learning environment. Students always forget the lessons they learnt in the last grade. Therefore, they should first revise those lessons, then start the next portion to make it easier to understand.

I had a domain where I used to publish lessons taught in class with tests. Students used to discuss the lessons and take the tests, and I would correct them. It was only for my students’ use.

However, I believed it would be beneficial to share my knowledge and experience with students, teachers, administrators, parents, and competitors preparing for competitive exams who have a strong desire to prove themselves and succeed in serving the government, as well as individuals eager to learn various terms.

For that purpose, I purchased the domain ‘thebestuknow.com’ in 2012 and began sharing my knowledge. I wrote the articles on English, mathematics, technology, insurance, and sports. However, I realised that separating English language topics was necessary. So, I purchased the domain ‘englishlamp.com’ in 2016 and started publishing English lessons on it. Also started publishing lessons explaining in Marathi for Marathi speakers and Hindi for Hindi speakers on englishlamp.in, so that learners understand better.
