Uses of Past Perfect Continuous Tense

 

 

1)Past Perfect Continuous Tense is used to express an action which is started before the time of speaking in past and continued or stopped at that time; as,

  •           He had been completing his home work since morning.

2) Past Perfect Continuous Tense is used to express a repeated action; as,

  •           She had been trying to hang a coat on that nail.
