Use of ‘Were’ in Negative Sentences of Past State of Being

भूतकाळातील स्थितीच्या नकारात्मक वाक्यांमध्ये 'were' चा वापर

भूतकाळातील स्थितीबद्दल सांगण्यासाठी नकारात्मक वाक्यांत were चा वापर केला जातो.

या प्रकरणात आपण भूतकाळातील स्थितीबद्दल सांगण्यासाठी 'were not' (नव्हतो/ता/ती/ते) च्या वापराबद्दल जाणून घेऊ.

चला ‘वअ/वअर’ (were) नकारात्मक वाक्यांत कसा वापरायचा ते पाहू.

 भूतकाळातील स्थितीबद्दल नकारात्मक वाक्याची रचना

या वाक्याची रचना मागील पाठातील वाक्यांच्या रचने समानच आहे. परंतु या वाक्यात आपल्याला  'were' सह 'not' वापरावे लागेल

म्हणून ‘वअ/वअर’ (were) सह भूतकाळातील स्थितीबद्दल नकारात्मक वाक्याची रचना आहे;

• Subject (we/ you/ they/plural noun) + were not + remaining words.
• कर्ता (आम्ही /तू /तूम्ही/ ते/ या /त्या/ कोणतेही अनेकवचनी नाम) + (were not) नव्हतो/ नव्हता/ नव्हती/ नव्हते+ उर्वरित शब्द

येथे काही उदाहरणे आहेत. रचना वरीलप्रमाणे आहे.

   आम्ही विद्यार्थी नव्हतो.
2. You were not a student.
   तु विद्यार्थी नव्हतास.
3. You were not the students.
   तुम्ही विद्यार्थी नव्हता.
4. They were not students.
   ते विद्यार्थी नव्हते.
5. His sisters were not very sad.
   त्याच्या बहिणी खूप दुःखी नव्हत्या.
6. The boys were not pleased.
   मुले खूश नव्हती.
7. They were not creative.
   ते सर्जनशील नव्हते.
8. You were not tired.
   तुम्ही थकलेले नव्हता.
9. We were not tired.
   आम्ही थकलेलो नव्हतो.
10. They were not happy.
    ते आनंदी नव्हते.
11. Her siblings were not happy.
    तिचे भावंड आनंदी नव्हते.
12. They were not surprised.
    ते आश्चर्यचकित झालेले नव्हते.
13. We were not a family.
    आपण /आम्ही कुटुंब नव्हतो.
14. We were not extremely sorry.
    आम्हाला अत्यंत खेद नव्हता.
15. They were not liars.
    ते खोटे बोलणारे नव्हते.
16. The girls were not beautiful.
    मुली सुंदर नव्हत्या.
17. We were not thirsty.
    आम्ही तहानलेलो नव्हतो.
18. The students were not well dressed.
    विद्यार्थी चांगल्या कपड्यात नव्हते.
19. We were not hungry.
    आम्ही भुकेले नव्हतो.
20. You were not ten years old.
    तु दहा वर्षांचा नव्हतास. / तुम्ही दहा वर्षांचे नव्हता.
21. They were not on time.
    ते वेळेवर नव्हते.
22. You were not wrong.
    तुझे चूक नव्हते.
23. They were not joyful.
    ते आनंदित नव्हते.
24. They were not superstitious.
    ते अंधश्रद्धाळू नव्हते.
25. We were not innocent.
    आम्ही निर्दोष / निष्पाप नव्हतो.
26. You were not smart.
    तुम्ही हुशार नव्हता.
27. They were not rude.
    ते उद्धट नव्हते.
28. They were not frightened.
    ते घाबरलेले नव्हते.
29. We were not polite.
    आम्ही सभ्य नव्हतो.
30. All servants were not loyal.
    सर्व सेवक निष्ठावान नव्हते.
